Hi, I'm Catherine, and whatever brings you here, welcome. I'm a person-centred counsellor based in Chichester and have been practising for 4 years. I studied at the University of Chichester, graduating with a BA(hons) in 2024. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their Ethical Framework.
What led me to counselling was a strong desire to connect with people who don't feel seen or heard, who have perhaps even lost sight of who they truly are or how they feel along the way. This disconnection can make life difficult to navigate. Life's challenges can feel insurmountable when facing them alone and in the dark. Everybody deserves a space to feel valued and supported, which is what makes my work as a therapist very important to me.
My Approach
I am a humanistic counsellor, meaning my role is to help you find your own way forward rather than directing you. Humanistic Counselling is rooted in a respect for the uniqueness of the human experience, focusing on empowering people to make their own choices and take charge of their lives.
At the heart of my work is a person-centred approach that views you as a whole, not broken or needing to be fixed. We are all shaped by our experiences and the ways we learned to survive in the world. My focus is on helping you integrate all the parts that make you who you are, no longer feeling that some of the pieces don't fit or belong. As we look at each piece with curiosity instead of judgement, a new understanding is reached; one which deepens self-awareness and restores connection. This is the fertile soil in which growth can occur.
SESSIONS & FEES
I am available for online, telephone and in-person sessions Mon-Fri between 10 am and 1 pm. Evening sessions: 7pm Mon-Fri via video or telephone.
What to Expect Sessions are 50-minutes long, and are typically held on a weekly basis to encourage deeper connection. The first session will involve completing a short assessment form. This is to help provide some background context that could be relevant to the work we do together. After this, it's over to you! All you need to bring is yourself - there is no pressure, no judgement, and no expectations. Just presence, and a willingness to see what emerges.
